We follow a model that would allow us to intervene at any phase within the growth of our company portfolio.
OPUS VB is far from acting as an accelerator or an incubator or in the traditional or operational sense of venture capital firms.
We differ from incubators and accelerators, as venture builders, we don’t have a specific application tender program, nor do we run startup competitions that close on a Demo Day. Instead, we are in constant search of business ideas that fit within our core competencies, from within or outside our own network of resources, and assign internal teams and veteran experts to develop them.
We tend to be considerably more hands on and would be heavily involved in guiding the decision-making process.
If the past is any indicator of the future, venture building as a business model certainly has a better track record. Approximately 60% of startups or SME experience a successful exit using the venture builder model as compared to the normal industry norm of 5-10%.
